The people must stand by the government in the pursuit of peace: Professor Beyenepetros
Beyene Petros said the people should play their part in the efforts to maintain peace in the country.
In the Tigray region, the TPLF attacked the Northern Command and acted in the same way in the Amhara region.
Ethiopian Social Democratic Party (EDP) Chairman, Prof. Beyene Petros, told ENA that he was saddened by the incident.
He said they have been involved in advising the federal government and the Tigray region to resolve their differences through dialogue.
“However, the central government’s approach to bringing things to a peaceful end has been rejected by power-hungry TPLF activists,” he said.
“The generosity and patience shown by the government to the TPLF leadership for the people of Tigray is admirable; But now he is taking action to stop the excesses. ”
“The people of Tigray are being forced to remain under the TPLF regime,” he added.
“It is unthinkable to lead a country,” he said.
He said Ethiopians everywhere have a responsibility to maintain peace in the country. He said the people should support the government in its efforts to maintain peace in the country.
He added that if the people are committed to maintaining peace in the area, no force can cause trouble.
He said the TPLF leadership is directly responsible for what is happening in the Tigray region. He said that the leader of the people should follow the example of the people and not point the way to destruction.
